This is an online portfolio for me, James Loizou, a video producer and multi-media producer based out of Washington, DC. The website features a wide variety of projects and behind-the-scenes photos for some of my favorite professional and personal endeavors. Also, check out my blog where I guarantee no consistency of posts or humor.
At the end of 2016, the elite team of nerds at LAI Video voted A Dream of Safety as its best, most favorite project of the year. The criteria for “best” and “most favorite” was left undefined, but staring at the final animation’s mesmerizing aesthetic, it’s easy to understand that it’s one of our most unique projects. Ever.

Spring is here. So is our Oakwood Terrace garden. It's a city garden. Small in size, but packed with love and big dreams of making it someday. Christine planted tomatoes, jalapeños, carrots, sweet peppers and a bunch of other stuff into our dirt.

For our annual not-getting-gifts gift exchange, Christine and I supported each others hobbies. Christine fed my fierce hunger for anything Star Wars with lightsaber popsicles and a galactic cookbook. I setup an umbrella swift and yarn ball winder. Good times ensued.

It is with great humility and embarrassment that I share this post. A personal tragedy has befallen the Loizou apartment-house. Three nights ago, my 3 TB hard drive crashed, carrying with it countless photo and video content. Actually, thanks to a beautiful info graphic that Christine’s cousin Kathleen Edison designed, we know exactly how much was lost. As of our wedding day, the volume included over 39,080 photos, 1,453 video clips and plenty more since April. More than most have in a lifetime.

Christine is mind-boggling disciplined when it comes to knitting her own clothes. She just completed another full-sized, grown-woman sweater and the results are breathtakingly comfortable. It's been five and a half years since I purchased my first legitimate camera, the Sony DSLR-A350. Just as video recording capabilities were taking the SLR world by storm, I chose a camera with nothing more than a solid 14.2 megapixel sensor for still images. But as a self-proclaimed "video-guy," I embraced that limitation and forced the video-less camera to make some of my favorite travel pieces. After gallivanting with me across the world, today, I retire that camera for a newer model. Specifically, I acquired the Sony Alpha a7s, a new mirrorless camera renowned for its low-light performance. I have many a menu to study, but here are some clips and photos captured right out of the box with the Sony Vario-Tessar 24-70mm f/4 lens. No touch ups.
