We scrubbed up and entered the operating room ready for the c-section. Not to leave any stone (or, in this case, baby) unturned, the doctors first performed a version. It was seen as a Hail Mary attempt to flip the baby out of a breech position — the odds were not in our favor. But after man-handling the unborn Boy Zou for 10 minutes, he inverted! The OR erupted in cheers like mission control at the end of a NASA movie. We were as shocked as the professionals in the room and became instant celebrities in the ward. Our little guy was now known [unofficially] as the Boy Who Flipped.Read More

With the newly-established Valentine’s delivery closing in, Jenna and Josh threw a big shower for #babyboyzou. Like, really big. We continued to disrupt stuffy shower etiquette with a co-ed bash that saw family flying into Wheaton from up and down the east coast.
Resurrecting old traditions, the Loizou’s returned to Busch Gardens Williamsburg for some good ole’ fashioned European fun. With an ominous weather forecast, the park was just as ominously empty, making way for our pick of the attractions. Pet Shenanigans? You bet.
As guests muddled their way through the mint julep bar, it became clear that Derby de Mayo: Year Cuatro was more of a networking mixer for babies. Anybaby who was anybaby stopped by — including Jonas, Grace, Charlie, Baylen, Bea, Dylan, Benjamin and four-time Derber Baby™ Morgan.Read More
Three birthdays. Two Nephews. And a full-house of “prezies.” This was Christmas at the Loizou’s — the first holiday season that Christine and I could properly host on the Norton rotation. Becca, Jarod and the boys flew up. Jenna and Josh stayed over. And the Loizou’s joined in a rare mixing of the families.Read More
This weekend, Christine and I literally moved across the street, cutting our commutes down by 90-seconds! Staying in Mount Pleasant, we’re now the proud owners of half of a 116 year-old house. But we love it fully.Read More
Look, Christine and I are not dog haters. While we might not “get” them, some of our best friends own dogs! And last Father’s Day, we watched Juliet, a proud Pomeranian, meet Xavi, Lianne and Nico's new newborn pup. The exchange was notable.Read More
One year ago, I was speechless. I was actually, literally speechless. I lost my voice, but had so much to say. So much to express! It was Christine and my wedding day.Read More
Today was the 40th Anniversary of the Marine Corps Marathon. My dad completed his third race with a secure qualifying time for Boston. Maneuvering through the screaming crowds, Christine and I caught a glimpse of him charging for the finish line.Read More
Christine and my honeymoon to Italy is the subject of the newest episode of the ongoing Travel Series. After you were thoroughly teased with my 30-second taste of espresso, I bring you this full-blown three-minute adventure-flick. Hot on the heels of our wedding day, Christine and I sailed through the canals of Venice. We wrapped ourselves in the leathers of Florence. And we defeated the selfie stick salesmen of Rome, while pioneering our own far more obnoxious form of self-portrait photography: the selfie-spin.Read More
Illustrating the quintessential evening at the Loizou's, we celebrated Father's Day by drinking smoothies, cooking on the grill and watching previously-recorded TV Land shows. Here's to Dean Loizou, the guy who taught me the value of hard work, the meaning of being a family-man and the impact of a well-placed dad joke.Read More
Here’s a quick blog shout-out to my mom. The true source of my love for comic books, adventure and old movies, she has inspired me to see the world with a sense of whimsy and humor. Her contributions to my interests, personality and outlook on life is unmeasurable, so I’ll just share a few photos instead.Read More
