LAI Video Rises Up BIG Time (Video)
Working on NRF's BIG Show for the last six years, it's increasingly become a family affair. And this year was breathtaking. Like, it literally took our breath away. Because it was exhausting. Christine managed the massive conference's main stage production, while me and a rag-tag team of nerds produced some serious videos. Very seriously.
On-site, seven of us captured the massive event in all of its glory. Building off last year and years before that, the videos featured Favata’s signature glidecam... now on a scooter and dolly! Tori was the figurative and literal driving force behind the cart (and everything else). Jun crafted close-ups and creeper shots, while Phil and Tiffany edited amongst the daywalkers. Rob and I split the night shift with Rob on the very glam Gala recap. I stuck with tradition, cutting together the BIG recap finale. The score's chorus-wail will haunt you.
We also traveled to New York City with dozens of videos in our video... bag. The kinds of videos to raise the bar for a hungry audience of thousands. In addition to our R&D team completely reimagining continuity graphics, we produced a collection of nine videos designed to announce and launch NRF's latest initiative. The credentialing program RISE Up debuted mid-panel and became the unofficial theme of the conference.
From day-in-the-lifes to animated explainers to Morgan Freeman-style trailers, the entire team put their best thoughts and talents behind this medley of stories. And it was glorious to witness the rollout in person. Or from a hotel edit suite in Midtown.
