Sister Trip: Things in Georgia (Video)
Several weeks ago, the Norton girls continued their annual tradition of “sister trips.” This time, the boys and babies tagged along in Gainesville, Georgia — a little lake town with a lotta heart.
Opting out of a 10-hour road trip with Jenna and Josh, Christine and I endured a 12-hour series of flight delays, bringing us to the lake house moments before screaming babies awoke. Maddox the Strong and Emerson the Wise added fresh life to what would have otherwise been an old-people’s party.
Despite the rain, we stuck to Jenna’s plans of apple picking. Determined to document, I stuffed myself into a garbage bag to shield the camera from the southern elements (it worked so well that I now refuse to take photos outside of a trash bag).
On Sunday, we set sail on a pontoon across Lake Lanier. Maddox made safety stylish again with his Minion-inspired lifejacket. After boating around for a bit, we cooked out and continued to play The Game of Things, a paper-and-pencil whodunit version of Cards Against Humanity.
At the end of the weekend, Maddox learned the word “Josh,” I learned to never gate-check a bag, and we all learned to avoid long car rides with Rodney.
